We had done a Nerdy Nuptials post recently, but what we didn’t add in there was Disney themed ideas. There is so many different ways to incorporate Disney into your wedding. Whether it’s all the movies or just one, we felt that it deserved it’s own blog post. From magical venues in the area, to silly decor items and displays you can add just a touch, or add it all!
If you are wanting a wedding at the actual Cinderella Castle in Disney World be prepared for the following. In order to have your ceremony in front of the castle, which allows for just 100 people and a ceremony time of 9:30 a.m. sharp, there is a $25,000 minimum fee. That’s excluding food and beverage and other expenditure minimums, which could total up to $75,000 or more. We find that most of our couples don’t have that large of a budget for their wedding day. Instead, here are some fun ideas you can do for your wedding!
Draping & Lighting
I started this one first because there are millions of pictures on our website, pinterest, and facebook where you can see how beautiful lights and chiffon draping are. For a magic touch and feeling a ceiling piece with draping and chandeliers can make quite the difference in ambiance. Add a touch of colored uplights around the room and it makes truly unforgettable.
Centerpieces
With Disney, you can focus on one movie or all of them. Each table can be a different centerpiece based on a different movie. Adding little items like gold or silver mercury votive candles, and candelabras can make an elegant touch. Also, beautiful flowers that coincide with the movie “colors” can complete a look you want. We chose some photos that coincide with classic Disney movies and can get these items for cheap anywhere!
Signage
There are several amazingly romantic quotes in all Disney movies (even in Star Wars). If you want to add just a subtle touch of Disney to your special day, signage is a great way to do that. You can be as clever and creative as you want! Here are some great examples to enjoy and melt over.
Disney Dessert Displays
A spoonful of sugar will never get old….at a wedding of course! Some of these cakes we found are more like works of art rather than a cake, not sure if you would actually want to cut in to it! Whether it is large and colorful, or simple and elegant they all are so beautiful!
Disney Favors
These can come in all shapes and sizes. A favor can be something edible or memorable with a pinch of Disney magic to it. From bottle openers, to bags of candy you can’t go wrong with any of these cute options.
Guest Books
It’s common to have a welcome/ sign-in table at the entrance of your reception or ceremony. Guestbooks can really be anything, but where this is the Disney post you have to incorporate a charming piece!
