27% of Couples have an UNPLUGGED Ceremony What does this mean? NO CELLPHONES, IPADS, or ELECTRONIC DEVICES should be held up, seen or interfering with the photographer and/or videographers task at hand - Getting you the best shots possible! More and more put out Unplugged Ceremony Signs at ceremonies! Otherwise you get way more of this:   Photo Credit: www.cordelephotography.com Ah... No Thank You! Granted - if you are live streaming to family and friends that could not make it - that is a valid exception. To help your guests understand to please set aside their cellphones, cameras, iPads are to provide signage, and make sure your officiant makes an announcement. #FunFactFriday

86% of Couples perform a first dance. The first dance is celebrated as the bride and groom’s first dance as a married couple. It is a very special moment the bridal couple gets to celebrate with each other only. This can also be the first time of the night where you both get to slow down and enjoy yourselves - as everything leading up to this moment has been hair and makeup, pictures, the ceremony, and more pictures. The 17th Century bride and groom would do a Waltz, a ballroom dance style, for their First Dance. Today, couples are not as skilled, nor trained, to do many classical dancing - BUT some couples do invest in a choreographed dance, which is always a fun surprise for guests! Some of the most popular first dance songs are: You are the best thing - Ray Lamontagne A thousand Years - Christina Perri At Last - Etta James (this is the longest first dance song in history) From the ground up - Dan and Shay

Bouquet Glossary

Have you picked out a florist yet? Do you know what kind of bouquet you'd like? Nosegay? Pompander? Cascading? Am I speaking a foreign language? Ha! No worries - we are going to break it down to simple terms that we can all understand! Bouquet Shapes Composite Made up of different petals or buds - wired together on a single stem Cascade A waterfall-like spill of blooms either anchored in a holder or hand tied Pageant Similar to Cascade, but slightly more compact and pulled together Round The more buttoned-up version of the hand-tied bouquet, tied with a ribbon Hand Tied A classic choice, its simply a dense bunch of flowers loosely tied together Posy One of the more popular options, its a small, round bouquet tied with ribbon Pompander A flower covered ball shape tied with a ribbon (this is perfect for flower girls!) Nosegay A compact, cluster of flowers, wrapped tight and cut to one uniform length. Have you checked out the best of the best of Sarasota's Florists? Stay tuned for our top 5 favorite Florists!

The Swanky Soiree Wedding Day Cheat Sheet

After months and months of planning you probably cannot wait for the day to finally be here. I'm sure your brain is full of wedding details, anxiety … and possibly family drama (I feel like the word WEDDING just brings the skeletons out of the family closet) Making so many BIG decisions often leaves the simplest ones left in the dust. But have no fear - this is our 'Week of' Cheat Sheet to make sure you have all your bases covered!     To our Bride and Grooms, while this is not required here are some tips on etiquette for your big day:   Invite your Officiant to the reception. Usually they will decline but it is very much appreciated when they are invited.   Make time for you and your spouse to step away from the party and take in the day for a few moments. Soak it all in!!   Delegate things for your bridal party to be responsible for. Make a list and hand it to everyone at rehearsal or via email   Plan relaxing events the day before your wedding.   Have an emergency kit- bobby pins, floral pins, safety pins, sewing kit, glue, tape, band aids, extra shoes, extra set of false eyelashes, lipstick, back up copy of vows, tissues. I will have some things but doesn't hurt to have additional items for your glam squad   Publicly thank everyone for coming and give a shout out to your vendor team.   Designate someone to take home your bouquet, cards and gifts   Have everything very organized for your planner in individual boxes by table. Everything should be table ready. No plastic wrap, stickers or assembly.   Bring [...]

Something Old, Something new

We've all heard the phrase, Something Olde, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, A Sixpence in your Shoe" This tradition comes from an Old English rhyme and the four objects that the bride adds to her wedding outfit or carries with her on the big day are just good luck charms. Something old represents continuity; something new offers optimism for the future; something borrowed symbolizes borrowed happiness; something blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity; and a sixpence in your shoe is a wish for good fortune and prosperity, although this remains largely a British custom
