We always tell our clients to make their events there own. Meaning it should speak to who you are either individually or as a couple. The result of this will make your event fun, personal and unique. You want to wow your guests and have them talking about  how swanky your wedding or event was. With 2015 weddings I think this is really becoming more of a trend and people are taking the time to personalize there day. With that said here are some of the trends you will see in 2015.

The Looks for 2015 weddings and events

British Invasion

You can give credit to Princess Kate and Downtown Abbey for these swanky details that embrace afternoon tea and garden parties. You will see uncovered wood tables finished with a elegant vintage lace cloth or runner. Beautiful lush garlands used as runners and loosely styled floral centerpieces. And yes we are bringing back the cozy brunch with homemade pastries. Another great thing about this style of event is that you can save a ton of money. Breakfast and lunch parties or receptions are much cheaper then dinner. So if you are on a budget, consider this.

Modern Luxe

This is a more sophisticated version of romance. The color palates are clean with bold pops. Shades of white or ivory with bursts of poppy red. Neutral colors with bright pops. This look would incorporate square chairs with clear ghost chairs, geometric place settings, monogrammed napkins and sculptured floral arrangements.

Eclectic Elegance

This one is our favorite. It falls between the grand wedding and romance. When I think of romance, I think a small intimate affair but this year we are bringing back the grand with a capital G. I have been noticing many brides returning to that classic elegant look. Formal tables capes, vip treatment, butler service, beautiful candelabras, soft lighting, swanky fabrics and don’t forget the dramatic cakes. The eclectic part of this equation comes into play when the formal affair is taken outside for a twilight party of glittering blush- gold touches, champagne towers and even surprise your guests with a late night food or ice-cream truck. The whole food truck trend is so fun and you will wow your guests. Hey all that dancing is hard work so they may need a little snack before they depart.

The Flowers

Top Blooms. Think english roses, peonies, hydrangeas, dahlias and ranunculus. These are a go to favorite by brides. Dramatic, romantic and versatile.

Greenery. I am loving the fresh herb trend. How great would that be to have in your centerpiece. The smell of fresh mint, rosemary, lemon leaf, magnolia leaf, ivy, smilax and maidenhair fern. These can be used as table runners, chair swags, frame menus on guest plates or even create a chandelier.

Farmers Market Fresh Picks. This trend is echoing the farm to table trend in the food industry. Most towns have a farmers market typically held on the weekend where you will find local vendors selling items from food, florals, bath supplies, custom made items, and many other household treasures. This is also a cheap way to get some fabulous just picked flowers. This isn’t for the TYPE A personality. You have to be willing to be flexible and wing it so to speak. You may not get what you want. So if flowers are important to you, do not choose this route.

Free Spirited arrangements. This is where your florist will select blooms that look like they were picked from a beautiful wild garden. All falling within the same color palette. Placing berries, fruit, nuts and even paper cut outs in the arrangement.

Hanging Centerpieces. No longer are centerpieces confined to the table. Flowers will be showcased above the tables as a floral chandelier.

The Drink Report

Champagne with a twist. So for a while now clients have been skipping the champagne since so many people waste it but now we are mixing in fruit purées to create tasty signature cocktails.

Smaller Sips. Craft beer is huge right now, this is a big trend. It goes back to the revival of local companies and a unique experience. This is more of a sampling set up of small cups of different bourbons, wine samplings, sangria’s and even a lemonade or fizzy soda pop bar. Giving your guests samples of an array of delicious beverages will be sure to blow there minds. This could potentially help with a budget wedding.

Open bar not required. This is more of a themed bar idea. It could mean only serving local labels, showcasing drinks from their home states or favorite vacation getaway. This is a creative way to add fun and excitement.

The Taste

Family Style Dining.  Guest interaction is a big goal for so many people. Family style meals are a great way to get a conversation going. It works well in a upscale environment as well as a laid back setting.

Tasting Stations. Show off your favorite foods in smaller portions. From oyster shucking stations and mac n’ cheese bars, to make your own taco stands to local food trucks. This will surprise your guests with an unexpected assortment of party food.

Locally sourced and seasonal. Carry this theme throughout your entire event. You notice a trend here… Farm to table is taking over. Tell the farmers to work with ingredients of the week. I know this isn’t going to work for everyone but its a neat idea if you can do it.

Snack Attack. Late night snack trays can be brought right to the dance floor. We don’t want anyone to miss a beat. Milkshakes, snow cones, warm cookies, pizza and even sliders are trending for the midnight munchies

Classic Cuisine. You can’t go wrong with this, Everyone will enjoy a balanced meal. Don’t forget your vegetarians. Have your chef come up with something tasty for them.

Next week we will talk about Cakes, Favors and Music Trends. Have a great weekend!!!!
